The specification that matters here is the measurement, not the fabric weight. Bought for wedding, banquet and hotel use, and by event businesses that re-cover a room for a season rather than for a single night. – Tumble dry low, or line dry. High heat shrinks linen, and a chair cover that has shrunk no longer fits the chair it was measured for.
– Press while slightly damp, working around the corner seams, if the covers are going onto chairs for a formal seating plan.
– Store flat or on a hanger rather than compressed in a bag, so the next event does not open with a room full of creases.
– Count the covers back in after each event. A chair cover set is only useful while it is complete.
Measure the chair properly and the rest follows. Take the seat-back height, the width across the back and the drop you want at the skirt, and measure a chair that has been sat on rather than a new one, since upholstery settles. Then decide the drop deliberately: a short skirt shows the chair leg at exactly the moment guests are being seated, so if the legs are not worth showing, order the longer drop. On colour, white and silver are the safe reorder pair, but check them against the room lighting rather than against a screen – silver reads grey under warm light, which is either the point or a mistake depending on the venue.
