A banquet chair and a hotel dining chair are rarely the same shape, even when they share a name in a catalogue. These are cut to the chair you actually own.

A chair cover only works against the chair it was measured for, so HSC splits the order into a sample stage and a bulk stage and commits to both.
– Once the sample is approved, delivery is stated at 8 to 20 days rather than left open.
– Payment runs as 50% deposit with the balance against the B/L copy, or against an irrevocable L/C at sight, whichever suits the buyer’s bank.
– The pre-production sample is supplied for approval and is never skipped, because a chair measured once is not a chair measured everywhere.
– Larger volumes are negotiated individually rather than pushed into the standard window.
– The same factory produces the table linen, so a room can be dressed from one order instead of two suppliers.
The specification that matters here is the measurement, not the fabric weight. A cover made to your chair’s own dimensions sits on the seat back and drops to the right point on the skirt, which is what a stock small-medium-large cannot do when a banquet chair and a hotel dining chair are rarely the same shape even under the same name in a catalogue. The cloth is linen, plain dyed, chosen for three reasons: it takes a fold, it does not go shiny where guests sit, and it reads as fabric rather than as a stretch cover. The plain surface is deliberate as well – a solid chair lets a printed tablecloth carry the pattern instead of competing with it, which is usually the right split in a decorated room. White and silver are held in stock, with custom dyeing and a colour card for matching a scheme.

Bought for wedding, banquet and hotel use, and by event businesses that re-cover a room for a season rather than for a single night. In those settings the piece goes on and comes off dozens of times in an evening and ends up in a laundry bag afterwards, so it is judged on how it looks on the twentieth seat rather than the first. A set that wears evenly is worth more than one that starts crisp and fades at different rates, which is why the covers from one event are laundered together and counted back in afterwards. Reordering a year later is the other test: anything that can be produced again to the same dimensions keeps a room consistent across two seasons, and that is the argument for fixing the specification now.
– A cool machine wash, 30C or below, and wash the covers from one event together so they age as a set instead of one going grey ahead of the rest.
– Shake each cover out before it goes into the drum. Linen takes a crease where it is bundled, and a bundled cover comes out creased in the same place every time.
– Use a mild detergent. Powder can sit in the seam allowance where the cover is doubled at the corner.
– No bleach and no optical brighteners. Both dull a dyed linen and weaken it at the same time.
– No fabric softener. It coats the fibre and takes away the crispness that keeps a chair cover looking tailored.
– Tumble dry low, or line dry. High heat shrinks linen, and a chair cover that has shrunk no longer fits the chair it was measured for.
– Press while slightly damp, working around the corner seams, if the covers are going onto chairs for a formal seating plan.
– Store flat or on a hanger rather than compressed in a bag, so the next event does not open with a room full of creases.
– Count the covers back in after each event. A chair cover set is only useful while it is complete.
Measure the chair properly and the rest follows. Take the seat-back height, the width across the back and the drop you want at the skirt, and measure a chair that has been sat on rather than a new one, since upholstery settles. Then decide the drop deliberately: a short skirt shows the chair leg at exactly the moment guests are being seated, so if the legs are not worth showing, order the longer drop. On colour, white and silver are the safe reorder pair, but check them against the room lighting rather than against a screen – silver reads grey under warm light, which is either the point or a mistake depending on the venue. Finally, order a pre-production sample and put it on an actual chair; a cover approved on a table will not tell you where the skirt lands.
