Most mattress protectors have to come off the moment the bed needs to look decent. This one can stay on – the print is meant to be seen.

HSC knits and finishes this bedding line on its own floor, and every cover passes three inspection points before it is packed.
– Raw material is checked on arrival: yarn count, knit density, and the finish already applied to the cloth.
– In-line inspection runs while the cover is being cut and sewn, which is where a zip that catches or a corner that pulls gets caught.
– A finished-piece check happens before packing, piece by piece, against the specification the order was written on.
– The people who inspect the run are the people who sign off the shipping sample, so a second order repeats the first.
– Nothing in this line is sent out to be finished, which is why a change to the zip or the pocket is answered inside the building.
A protector is only doing its job if it covers the surfaces that actually get dirty. Most pads sit on top of a mattress and leave the sides and the underside open – which is where dust mites concentrate and where a hospital cleaning routine has to reach. This one zips shut around all six faces. The fabric is knitted cotton at 200 thread count on a 40-count construction, and the knit is the reason it works: knitted cloth stretches, and that stretch is what lets an encasement pull over a mattress and a topper without straining the seams at the corners. It is cut to a mattress depth of 15 to 17 inches, which is the range most standard fitted sheets no longer cover. Finishing is anti-dust-mite, anti-static, anti-pilling and anti-pull. The print is the last design decision – a plain white encasement reads as an underlayer, while a print lets the pad stay on a guest bed that is meant to look made.

Bought for the home, for hotels and hospitals, and for RV and caravan berths where the mattress is an awkward shape and a fitted sheet will not stay put. In all three settings the six-sided construction is the reason to buy, not a bonus feature: a protective layer that leaves the mattress sides bare has not protected the bed. Four sizes are held – single, double, queen and king – which covers the beds these orders actually contain, and three custom colourways are offered. The print and the shade can both be produced to your own artwork, so a hospitality group can carry its own pattern rather than accepting a catalogue one.
– Hand wash as specified. This is a knitted cotton with a print, and a machine’s agitation distorts both.
– Use cool or lukewarm water, never hot. Heat is what shrinks a knit.
– Mild detergent only; no bleach or optical brighteners, which dull a printed shade.
– Wash with the zip closed, so the teeth cannot catch on the fabric in the water.
– Do not wring or twist. Press the water out against the side of the basin instead.
– Line dry flat in the shade. Hanging it wet will stretch a knitted panel out of shape.
– Dry it through before refitting, including along the zip tape where damp lingers.
– Do not iron the print and do not dry clean; both damage the finish on the fabric.
– Vacuum the surface between washes in a hospital or allergy-focused setting rather than washing more often than the knit will take.
Choosing one comes down to three measurements and one habit. First, the mattress depth: if it is 15 to 17 inches, or carries a topper, the standard fitted sheet will not stay on and an encasement is the right answer rather than a top-only pad. Second, the six faces: count what needs protecting – a top pad is cheaper, but dust mites and spills reach the sides and the underside first, so a hospital or allergy setting gets little from one. Third, the closure: on a zipped encasement the zip is the part that fails, and a zip stitched on after the panel is made will catch on the knit. The habit is washing – hand wash is specified here because a machine’s agitation distorts a printed knit, so buy for a setting where that is realistic.
