1. First-Use Prep

Give your new linen item a gentle rinse before using it for the first time. This washes away any leftover sizing and excess dye from production, making the fabric softer for regular use and helping it hold its color longer.

2. Detergent Guidelines

Never use chlorine bleach—it can damage linen’s natural fibers. Fabric softener isn’t necessary, as linen naturally becomes softer with wear and washing. Choose a mild detergent to clean thoroughly while protecting the fabric’s integrity.

3. Washing Tips

Wash linen only in room-temperature water. Avoid soaking it in hot water, using improper dry-cleaning methods, or scrubbing hard back and forth when hand-washing. For machine washing, skip the spin-dry cycle. After washing, air-dry in a well-ventilated spot—keep it out of direct sunlight. Iron on a low heat setting if needed. If using a dryer, set the temperature below 30°C; high heat will break down the fabric and cause deformation.

4. Drying & Storage

Always lay linen flat to dry. Never stretch or pull it while damp, as this leads to permanent shape loss. Once fully dry, fold it neatly and store in a dark, low-humidity, and well-ventilated space to preserve its quality.

5. Daily Handling Note

Avoid hanging linen on sharp hooks or edges. Linen absorbs a moderate amount of water, so it becomes heavier when wet. Its natural drape also means it’s prone to snagging on sharp surfaces—handle with care to prevent tears.
