Cotton Washing Instructions

Before using your cotton bedding for the first time, give it a gentle rinse with cold or warm water. This helps wash away any loose threads and excess dye from production, leaving the cotton fabric softer to the touch and keeping its color bright for longer.

When it’s time to wash, opt for a mild detergent. Never use chlorine bleach—this will cause the fabric to fade over time. There’s no need for fabric softener either, as cotton is naturally soft on its own. Wash in warm water, steering clear of high temperatures that can damage the fibers. You can choose to machine wash on a normal cycle or hand wash, whichever is more convenient for you.

For drying, either tumble dry on medium heat or hang it up to air dry in a shaded area. Cotton might stretch a little during washing, but avoid overusing the tumble dryer—this can lead to shrinkage. If there are wrinkles after drying, iron the bedding on medium heat to smooth them out.

When storing your cotton bedding, fold it neatly or roll it up and keep it in a dry, well-ventilated place. Cotton holds up well during long-term storage, but make sure to avoid damp areas to prevent mold growth. If hanging for drying or storage, keep it away from sharp edges that could snag the fabric.
