Linen Washing Instructions

Before using your linen set for the first time, give it a gentle rinse with cool water. This washes away leftover sizing and excess dye from production, making the linen softer to use and helping prevent fading later on.

When cleaning, stick to mild detergent—chlorine bleach is a no-go, and you won’t need fabric softeners either (linen keeps its natural softness on its own). Wash in room-temperature water; never soak it in hot water. You can hand wash gently or use the low, gentle cycle on your washing machine—just skip the high-speed shake-dry function.

For drying, air it out in a shaded, well-ventilated spot—keep it away from direct sunlight. Lay the linen flat to dry; stretching the fabric can make it lose its shape. If you use a dryer, set the temperature below 30°C. If wrinkles appear, iron on low heat to smooth them out.

When storing, fold the linen neatly and keep it in a dark, dry, and airy place. Avoid hanging it on sharp objects: linen absorbs a moderate amount of water, so when it’s wet, it gets heavier and is more likely to snag on rough edges.

Flax also excels at temperature regulation. Thanks to those hollow fibers, the fabric “breathes” naturally, keeping you cool when the weather’s hot and wrapping you in warmth when it turns cold. It’s the kind of versatility that makes linen a go-to for all seasons.
