Every napkin in your order is embroidered by a person sitting at a stitching frame—same as it has been done for generations. This is not a machine running 200 heads at once. The stitches are tighter, the lettering has character, and small irregularities in the thread tension are what make it feel human-made rather than factory-made. The threads we use are colorfast—they will survive commercial laundering without bleeding into the fabric.
The base fabric is a 165GSM cotton-linen blend. Cotton brings the softness, linen brings the strength and that slightly crisp hand feel. It absorbs spills fast, dries quickly, and does not hold onto wrinkles the way pure linen does. The hem is either a 1cm plain stitch or a 1.5cm mitred corner—your call. Six base colors: White, Natural, Thyme, Flaw, Stone, Charcoal.
