Organic Stonewashed Cotton Washing Instructions

Prep Before First Use: Give your organic stonewashed cotton item a gentle rinse first. This gets rid of any leftover sizing and loose dyes on the surface, making the fabric softer for future use and helping it keep its color from fading easily.

Washing Do’s and Don’ts: Skip chlorine bleach entirely—you won’t need fabric softener either. Go for a mild detergent instead; this protects the natural cotton fibers and keeps the fabric’s unique texture intact.

Washing & Drying Details: Wash in room-temperature water, and never soak the cotton in super hot water. Whether you’re hand-washing or using a machine, avoid scrubbing hard back and forth. If machine-washing, don’t use the high-speed spin-dry function. After washing, hang it to dry in a well-ventilated spot—keep it away from direct sunlight. Low-temperature ironing works if there are wrinkles. If you use a dryer, set the temperature below 30°C; high heat can damage the cotton and make the product lose its shape.

Drying & Storage Tips: Lay the cotton flat to dry. Never stretch it too much, as this can cause permanent deformation. When storing, fold it neatly and put it in a dark, low-humidity space with good airflow.

Extra Note: Don’t hang organic stonewashed cotton on sharp objects. This type of cotton absorbs water well—when it’s wet, it gets heavier but still has a lovely drape, so proper handling keeps it in great condition.
